Kacey Johansing

Kacey Johansing has a seamless voice that flows like a ruby-red wine. Her Indie-Folk sound is in the vein of Feist meets Jonie Mitchell. She has a 1970s confessional songwriting style that is mature and focused, with a hint of  flowerchild mentality this songstress has found a place to belong in San Francisco where her music is flourishing. Her roots are originally in a small town in Colorado and she also spent some time in Boston. Her debut album Many Seasons is due to be released on June 15th by Porto Franco Records.

Venice is Sinking

Venice is Sinking has a dreamy seductive sound that reaches out towards the sky and touches the ether. They will be releasing their 3rd full-legth LP Sand & Lines: The Georgia Theatre Sessions which is set for release on June 15th. The album was recorded in Athens, Georgia at the historic Georgia Theatre. It was recorded with no overdubs over a period of four days (which is pretty damn impressive). REM and Widespread Panic are among some of the artists that have played at that same venue, plus many others. The theatre met with misfortune in June of 2009 and was destroyed by a fire. When that happened Venice is Sinking made the generous gesture of deciding that all proceeds from Sand & Lines would go to the Theatre. Currently the Georgia Theatre is being rebuilt with the hopes of opening in early 2011. Donations are being accepted at the Theatre's website: http://www.georgiatheatre.com

Venice is Sinking Live Dates:
05/07 - 40 Watt Club - Athens, GA
05/14 -Tantra - Savannah, GA
05/22 -The Art Bar - Columbia, SC
06/26 - 40 Watt Club - Athens, GA (Athfest)

Doug Burr: O Ye Devastator

Doug Burr hails from Denton, Texas. He sings sweet and low with sincere and heartfelt lyrics that you fall into without abandon. He has a dreamlike and dusky voice similar to Ben Knox Miller of the Low Anthem. He pulls you into his music with the same kind of vocal magic that takes an audience captive in the way that Ray Lamontagne or David Gray entrance theirs. His new album O Ye Devastator is due to be released on May 4th from the record label Spune/Velvet Blue Music.

Listen to "Red Red," which will be on the upcoming album.

Burr has explained the theme of the album to be "American roots music rendered as sweeping scenes and story lines, antique, revelatory, and futuristic in scope."

Wild Moccasins

Sometimes you come across an under the radar band that has such an intoxicating sound and it's quite exciting. A lot of music these days blurs together and we tune it out and it morphs into mere background noise. Wild Moccasins grabbed my attention and their music is definitely in the foreground. With a ragtag mix of pop influenced sound that borders on an alternative edge this is a band that is bound for great things! Their new album Skin Collision Past is due to be released on June 8, 2010. Johnny Bertram & The Golden Bicycles

"A Boise, Idaho transplant, Johnny Bertram sonically channels the influences of the Pacific Northwest's musical forebears (think Pedro the Lion, The Decemberists, Built to Spill) in his acoustic-based songwriting. A Mississippi resident for the past five years, his songs are steeped in indie-rock and Americana and filtered through a Deep South lens that generates an interesting perspective and sound." (Team Clermont Indie PR)

Check out their song "Private Land" http://teamclermont.com/mp3/johnnybertram_privateland.mp3
