Jookabox: Weird and Chaotic Music of the Day

I was listening to a few tracks from Jookabox's new album Dead Zone Boys and man is it weird! Here's what came into my brain while listening; it is trippy and chaotic and sort of like dreaming in cartoons. It's an acid flashback driving in reverse and then suddenly waking up in a potato field in Idaho with no recollection of how you got there. It was suddenly like talking in colors and hearing in numbers. Check em out!

Holly Golightly to perform on Last Call With Carson Daly On 4/29

Holly Golightly grew up in a bohemian household; the music that infiltrated her senses was a diet of psychedelic rock and soul. Her musical career began in the legendary girl garage band Thee Headcoatees. Over the years she has recorded 12 full-length albums including a few collaborations and over 15 singles for various labels.

No Second Troy

I recently discovered No Second Troy by sheer chance of myself + internet + boredom = finding awesome music. The band name No Second Troy originated as the title of a William Butler Yeats poem, in which he struggles with the unrequited love he has for Irish revolutionary Maud Gonne. They are an indie-rock band testing the boundaries of sound with a hint of pop intermingled in their great tunes. Check em' out! Go to http://www.nosecondtroy.com for more info.

Civil Twilight

Seriously has anyone besides me heard of this band? They're fan-flippin-tastic! Hmm... well I'm sure people have heard of them, maybe just not so much here in the Motor City. Civil Twilight hails from Cape Town, South Africa, they are a power trio that draws parallels to Pilot Speed, MUSE, and other like-minded bands. Their music has been featured in One Tree Hill, House, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Check them out in this video.

Motorcity Special is not signing artists or retaining rights to any of the original music.
